Official Trey Wilson Biography

Born and raised in the piney woods of Shelby County, Texas, Trey Wilson grew up surrounded by faith, family, and the sound of gospel harmonies that filled small country churches on Sunday mornings. With the Heavenly Highway Hymnal in hand and generations of singers before him — including the Campbell family, proud members of the Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame — Trey learned early on that music wasn’t just something you perform; it’s something you live.  

That foundation carried him far beyond those country roads. As both a solo artist and a member of New South, Trey has performed thousands of times before millions of people across the nation through live concerts and television appearances. Known for his warm, soulful tone and heartfelt connection with audiences, he brings an honesty to the stage that resonates deeply — blending traditional gospel roots with a timeless sincerity that transcends the genre of music.  

Over the years, Trey has built a reputation not just as a powerful vocalist and artist, but as a storyteller — one who sings from the heart and lives what he sings. As the founder of The Lone Cedar Foundation, he is leading an effort to support men facing mental health and addiction struggles throughout East Texas and Northwest Louisiana — giving voice to those who’ve too often been told to stay silent.
